These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of Link Watchdog (the "Service"), a free web tool that extracts links from pasted text, detects affiliate links, follows redirect chains, and checks Wayback Machine archive status. By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
You paste text containing URLs into the Service. The Service extracts the links, requests each one from our servers to identify redirect chains and detect known affiliate-network parameters (for example, Amazon Associates, ShareASale, CJ, Rakuten/LinkShare, Awin, Skimlinks, and Impact), and checks the Internet Archive's Wayback Machine for an existing archived snapshot of the final destination. The Service does not submit pages to the Wayback Machine for archiving - it only checks whether an archive already exists.
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. Affiliate-link detection is based on known patterns and parameters and may produce false positives or false negatives. Redirect-chain and Wayback Machine results depend on third-party sites and services that we do not control and that may be slow, unavailable, or return inaccurate information. Do not rely on the Service as your sole method of verifying whether a link is an affiliate link or as legal, financial, or compliance advice.
When using the Service, you agree not to:
We may rate-limit, block, or terminate access for any user or IP address that we believe, in our reasonable discretion, is violating these Terms.
The Service checks and displays information about third-party URLs that you submit. We do not control, endorse, or take responsibility for the content, policies, or practices of any third-party site. When you submit a URL, our servers make a request to that destination; we do not control what that destination does with the request.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the operator of the Service will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or revenue, arising from your use of or inability to use the Service, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service, or update these Terms, at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
Questions about these Terms can be sent to info@port82.com, or via our contact page.
